Plot : American Gangster is a crime drama directed by Ridley Scott. Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) uses his own cunning and strict business policy to rise to the top of the crime world and build his own criminal empire after his boss, the Harlem's leading mobster, Bumpy Johnson’s sudden demise. His position as Harlem's most innovative drug dealer is further strengthened when he starts supplying a product which is not only purer but also cheaper than what his competitor’s supply. However, street-savvy outcast cop Ritchie Roberts (Russell Crowe) feels some change in the power structure of the world of organized crime and decides to investigate. But, being one of the few honest cops, he finds the corrupt system standing in the way of his investigation and especially the crooked detective Trupo (Josh Brolin), tries his best to compromise the honesty of his unrealistic colleague. As the confrontation between Lucas and Roberts becomes inevitable, it is also apparent that only one of them will emerge victorious.
